Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has criticised the Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, over comments on Nigerians’ responsibility for food safety.
In a post shared via Instagram on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Njoku challenged the NAFDAC boss to focus on the agency’s regulatory responsibilities, questioning its effectiveness in regulating processed and semi-processed food products.
“Madam NAFDAC!! Stop shifting the burden to consumers.
“We cannot READ our way out of weak inspection, inadequate testing and poor enforcement. Are you effectively regulating processed and semi-processed foods? Are you?
