President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muhammed Bello Bala Shagari on his election as Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organisation (NAMYO) for the 2026–2029 term.
The President described Shagari’s election as a significant achievement for Nigeria and recognition of his contributions to youth development and international engagement.
Shagari, a former Vice Chairperson of NAMYO for Africa and President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, is expected to use the position to advance youth cooperation, peace, sustainable development and the interests of the Global South.
Tinubu said the Federal Government remained committed to creating opportunities for Nigerian youths to participate meaningfully in national development and assume leadership roles both within Nigeria and internationally.
He said his administration would continue to support initiatives focused on skills development, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, sustainable development and greater youth participation in public and international affairs.
The President urged Shagari to uphold the principles of service, inclusiveness and mutual respect in leading the organisation.
Tinubu wished him a successful tenure and assured him of the Federal Government’s support.
