Reno Omokri has praised President Bola Tinubu’s recent public engagements, describing them as evidence of the President’s vigour and enthusiasm for Nigeria while arguing that the country remains politically stable despite claims to the contrary by opposition figures.
In a post on his X handle, Omokri said it was “gratifying” to see Tinubu attend several public events over the weekend, culminating in his visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu I.
He said the President’s interaction with well-wishers, including dancing publicly with them, demonstrated warmth and goodwill.
“It was gratifying to see the President attend multiple public occasions back-to-back over the weekend, during which he displayed vigour and enthusiasm for Nigeria, culminating in his visit yesterday to the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu I,” Omokri wrote.
“He even danced publicly with well-wishers in a show of warmth and bonhomie!”
Omokri also pointed to the number of former Nigerian leaders still living in the country and maintaining relationships with the current administration as an indication of what he described as political stability.
“Not only are our President and the democracy we fought hard to achieve healthy, but I challenge anyone to name another country besides Nigeria where five former presidents are alive, living in the country, on good terms with the government in power, and cooperating with the incumbent,” he said.
He listed former military heads of state Yakubu Gowon, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, alongside former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, noting that they continue to live in Nigeria and participate in national engagements.
According to Omokri, Nigeria’s political transitions have also demonstrated an ability to transfer power between presidents, political parties, regions and geopolitical zones without a leadership crisis.
“No Nigerian former leader is in exile, fighting the incumbent, or maintaining a Cold War with the government. This is rare to unprecedented,” he said.

He further argued that economic prosperity follows political stability, citing developments in Nigeria’s financial markets and investment landscape.
“And economic prosperity follows political stability, like day follows night,” Omokri said.
He also referenced claims about the performance of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, its classification by FTSE Russell and Nigeria’s inclusion in a J.P. Morgan government bond index as examples of what he described as growing investor confidence.
Under Tinubu’s administration, Omokri said, “Nigeria is the best place to park your money on Earth.”
He also described the Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s planned initial public offering as another reason for Nigerians to be proud of the country.
“That is another of many reasons to be proud of Nigeria. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he added.
