The Nigeria Police Force has reported a series of operational successes across several states, including the recovery of 267kg of suspected Cannabis Indica in Lagos, the rescue of six kidnap victims in Oyo and Plateau states, and the repelling of a suspected terrorist attack in Borno State.
In a statement signed by CSP Ani Iniedu, ANIPR, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the police said the operations formed part of its top 10 state-by-state operational successes recorded on October 6, 2026.
In Lagos State, police operatives, alongside other security agencies, participated in the joint examination of a 40ft container at Apapa, where 275 sachets of a substance suspected to be Canadian Cannabis Indica were discovered concealed inside four chest deep freezers.
The police said the recovered exhibits had been taken into custody for further investigation, with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, handling the case.
In Oyo State, joint security operatives rescued three of four company staff members abducted around Idi-Ayure, Ibadan.
According to the police, the operatives combed surrounding bushes following the abduction and successfully rescued three victims unhurt. Intensive operations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The SCID in Ibadan is investigating the incident.
Also in Plateau State, police operatives rescued the wife of a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police and another victim who were abducted from their residence in Gura-Topp, Rayfield, Jos South Local Government Area.
The police said both victims were rescued unhurt, debriefed and reunited with their families, while the SCID, Jos, continues investigation into the incident.
In Borno State, combined security forces successfully repelled an attack by suspected ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists in the Zakari area of Nganzai Local Government Area.
The police said security measures had been strengthened following the incident and normalcy restored in the area, with the SCID, Maiduguri, investigating.
Meanwhile, police operatives in Delta State arrested three suspected cultists during a raid on a suspected cult meeting based on credible intelligence.
One automatic pump-action gun was recovered during the operation, while the SCID, Asaba, is investigating.

In another operation in Bauchi State, patrol operatives intercepted a group of suspected armed robbers who had allegedly robbed two Okada riders.
One suspect was arrested and two motorcycles recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects and participants in the subsequent mob action.
The police said the SCID, Bauchi, is handling the investigation.
In Oyo State, police operatives on stop-and-search duty intercepted a Toyota Camry after its occupants allegedly refused to stop, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
The police said a revolver toy gun, 23 toy bullets, eight expended toy bullets, suspected Indian hemp, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, jewellery and other exhibits were recovered from the vehicle.
The SCID, Ibadan, is investigating the case.
In Kogi State, an abducted victim identified as Umar Ibrahim escaped from his abductors and was taken to a police station by his relatives.
The police said Ibrahim’s statement was obtained before he was released to his relatives for medical attention, while bush-combing operations continued to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators.
The SCID, Lokoja, is investigating the incident.
The police also reported another cult-related operation in Delta State in which three suspects were arrested during a raid on a suspected cult meeting.
According to the police, the suspects led operatives to an abandoned building where an automatic pump-action gun was recovered.
The SCID, Asaba, is investigating the matter.
In another operation in Oyo State, police operatives rescued an abducted victim during a bush-combing operation around the Ijebu-Ode–Ibadan Road.
The victim was brought to safety, while intensive operations continued to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators.
The police said the SCID, Ibadan, is investigating the incident.
