The first three stations of the Lagos Blue Line Rail Phase 2 project are scheduled to open by the end of February 2027, as construction progresses on the extension from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko.
In a post shared via X on Friday, November 6, 2026, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said the second phase would add six stations along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, connecting more communities to the rail network.
Sanwo-Olu said work was progressing on the tracks, bridges and stations, with Festac, Alakija and Trade Fair expected to be the first three stations to open.
“The future of transportation in Lagos is taking shape and we are making steady progress,” the governor said.
He added that the project was part of his administration’s vision to reduce travel time and improve mobility for residents.
“Our vision is a Lagos where people spend less time travelling and more time living, working and building their future,” he said.
He added that the state was turning the vision into reality “one project at a time.”
