Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has spoken publicly for the first time in months, expressing gratitude to fans who remained supportive throughout his prolonged absence from the spotlight.
The comedian, who has kept a low profile in recent months by staying away from public appearances, social engagements and performances, said he had not been able to engage with his supporters as he would have liked.
In a heartfelt message shared on his WhatsApp channel on Friday, Shaggi thanked fans for their unwavering love, patience and concern during the period he remained out of the public eye.
He said their continued support had given him strength despite his inability to be present.
“To everyone who’s still here… waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you. I don’t think y’all truly understand how much that means to me.
“Even when I haven’t been able to show up the way I wanted to, knowing that y’all are still here has meant more than I can put into words.”

Although he acknowledged that many people had been eager to know what kept him away, the entertainer said he was not ready to reveal the circumstances behind his absence.
He, however, assured fans that he had not forgotten them and looked forward to returning when the time was right.
“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now… but I can’t. Not yet.
“Just know I haven’t forgotten about you, and I haven’t stopped thinking about the day I can finally come back and really be ME with y’all again. I’m hoping that day comes soon.”
Shaggi also pledged to return with renewed energy, promising to make up for the time he had spent away from his audience.
“And when it does, I promise I’m coming back better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time.
“”Until then, please know this from the bottom of my heart. I LOOOOOOOOR Y’ALL SOOOO MUCH. Thank you for staying. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for still being here.”
His message comes months after concerns were raised over reports alleging that he sustained a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
At the time, TVC News reported that the Ogun State Police Command had launched an investigation into the alleged shooting incident involving the comedian.
