A chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Buba Galadima, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of being allergic to democratic competition.
Galadima made this allegation on Monday during a live appearance in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
He was speaking on why heavyweight stalwarts of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwanso left the ADC.
According to him: “The government of the day and the ruling party have gone to town to destroy all political parties. They destroyed the NNPP and LP, on which both Kwankwaso and Peter Obi ran in 2023.
“They (the APC) want to assure themselves that the only way they can win elections is to have a single candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. They are allergic to democratic competition.”
