Otti made the remarks on Thursday during the inaugural meeting of the party’s National Working Committee held at the Labour Party national headquarters in Abuja.
His comments come amid ongoing efforts by party leaders to address internal disagreements that have affected the organisation in recent months.
According to the governor, the party is focused on reconciliation and rebuilding unity among members in order to strengthen its structure nationwide.
During the meeting, Otti addressed questions regarding the possibility of Abure and members of the dissolved National Working Committee returning to active participation within the party.
He explained that the Labour Party leadership is currently engaging in efforts aimed at resolving disputes and reintegrating members who had become divided by internal conflicts.
According to him, the disagreements that created tension within the party are gradually being addressed through dialogue and reconciliation processes.
He stated that the party’s doors remain open to individuals willing to work together for the progress and stability of the organisation.
The governor further explained that political parties often experience disagreements, especially during periods involving leadership struggles and organisational restructuring.
However, he stressed that such disagreements should not become permanent obstacles to unity.
According to him, the Labour Party leadership recognises the need to bring members together and avoid actions that could weaken the party before future elections.
Otti stated that the focus of the current leadership is to ensure that the party emerges stronger and more organised after resolving its internal disputes.
He added that reconciliation efforts are already producing positive signs, with discussions continuing among stakeholders across different levels of the party.
Julius Abure had previously served as the National Chairman of the Labour Party and played a prominent role during the party’s activities leading up to the 2023 general elections.
However, internal disagreements within the party later created divisions among members and leaders, leading to disputes over the party’s leadership structure and direction.
