Jos, Plateau State – In a daring night raid that has left many in shock, bandits have abducted over 100 cultists in Jos while they were carrying out a secret initiation ceremony for new members.The incident happened deep in the bush along the Jos-Bauchi road.
Eyewitnesses say the cultists had gathered quietly at night, away from the main road, to perform their rituals when the armed bandits suddenly attacked.Reports from locals and social media claim the bandits came in large numbers and took almost everyone present. Some sources put the number at exactly 100, while others say it could be slightly less.
The thick forest made it easy for the attackers to escape before security forces could respond.Residents of Jos are now living in fear. Cult activities have increased in parts of Plateau State in recent months, but no one expected bandits to target the cultists themselves.
Families of the missing members are crying for help and begging security agencies to rescue their loved ones.As at press time, the police have not released any official statement, and no group has claimed responsibility.
