The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano Strategic Command said that it has arrested a suspected drug dealer during a raid at the Audu Bako Secretariat under its ongoing “Operation Sharar Mafaka”.
The agency said its operatives acted on intelligence and moved in to clear drug spots operating within the secretariat.

On seeing the officers, the suspect reportedly climbed to the second floor of a building and jumped in an attempt to evade arrest. He was, however, caught immediately.
NDLEA said a quantity of Cannabis sativa was recovered from him, and he was taken to the command office for investigation and possible prosecution.
According to the agency, the suspect, who works as a car washer, “admitted to being involved in the illicit trade for approximately two years”.
Officials involved in the operation said their swift response ensured he was tracked and arrested without losing evidence.
The commander of NDLEA Kano Strategic Command, CN D.Y. Lawal, warned that government facilities must not be used as cover for illegal activities.
“This is a warning to all those that think government establishments can be used as a hideout for their illicit activities,” he said.
The agency added that Operation Sharar Mafaka is still ongoing as efforts continue to dismantle drug networks across Kano State and bring offenders to justice.
