“It Wasn’t That Serious”- Yinka Quadri Speaks On Alleged Rift With Late Ogogo

Veteran Yoruba actor Yinka Quadri has addressed the long-standing reports of a rift between him and his late colleague and friend, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Speaking during a recent interview with Feelright New TV, Quadri admitted that there was a brief period of disagreement between the two actors but maintained that the situation was not as serious as it was portrayed publicly.

According to him, the issue was blown out of proportion by people who had little understanding of what happened between them.

“Before God and man, we had a short beef, but it was not as serious as people are saying it was. They escalated and exaggerated it,” he said.

Quadri also revealed that neither he nor Ogogo could clearly identify what caused the disagreement in the first place.

While there had been speculation that money or women might have contributed to the reported rift, the veteran actor dismissed both claims.

“All glory to God, money was not the reason for our fight. Women were never the reason for our fight,” he said.

He suggested that third parties may have contributed to the misunderstanding by passing information between them.

“Maybe they told him something, because some people used to tell me things,” he said.

Quadri further noted that neither he nor Ogogo publicly granted interviews at the time to explain what had happened, which, in his view, showed that the disagreement was never as serious as people believed.

Recounting an encounter at a housewarming ceremony hosted by a man identified as Yomi, Quadri recalled how fellow actor Ajobiewe reportedly tried to encourage both men to resolve their differences.

However, according to Quadri, there was hardly anything left to settle because he and Ogogo were already together, chatting and laughing before Ajobiewe approached them.

“Ogogo and I were sitting close to each other at that party, even before Ajobiewe arrived. We were gisting and laughing together. So it’s not a serious beef. People are just exaggerating it,” he said.

Ogogo, one of the most respected figures in the Yoruba movie industry, died without publicly explaining the disagreement.

Quadri acknowledged that the circumstances surrounding the brief misunderstanding remain unclear, adding that even he cannot say exactly what caused the issue between them.
