Gov Uba Sani hails Zazzau emirate history book as Emir Bamalli marks 6th anniversary

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has described the newly unveiled book, “The History of the Zazzau Emirate (1808–2025)”, as a valuable contribution to historical scholarship and heritage preservation.

Governor Sani stated this on Tuesday while serving as Special Guest of Honour at the public presentation of the book held at the Emir’s Palace, Zaria, to commemorate the sixth anniversary of Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, as Emir of Zazzau.

The Governor said the publication enriches historical scholarship and safeguards a heritage whose significance extends beyond the Emirate.

“Through its account of more than two centuries, it offers scholars, researchers and younger generations a valuable foundation for understanding the institutions, personalities and traditions that have shaped our society. Preserving such knowledge strengthens our collective memory and equips posterity to engage thoughtfully with its inheritance,” Sani said.

He commended Emir Bamalli for six years of dignified and purposeful leadership, noting that his devotion to peace, unity, cultural preservation and community development affirms the enduring relevance of traditional institutions.

“His reign continues to foster the trust and sense of belonging upon which communal progress depends,” he added.

Governor Sani appreciated the recognition by former Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, and the Emir of Zazzau, of his administration’s contributions to peace, stability and development.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with traditional institutions as indispensable partners in reconciliation, social cohesion and inclusive development.

Governor Sani congratulated the Emir on his sixth anniversary and commended all scholars whose dedication brought the publication to fruition, praying for wisdom, sound health and a long, peaceful reign for the Emir.
