Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday met with the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, to discuss closer collaboration on tackling environmental challenges and strengthening climate resilience in the state.

 

 


The minister paid a courtesy visit to the governor at Lagos House, Marina, where both leaders discussed the environmental pressures facing Lagos as a coastal state.

 

Speaking after the meeting, Sanwo-Olu said: “Today, I received the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.”

 

 

He added: “We spoke about environmental challenges and what they mean for a coastal state like Lagos. We also shared ideas on strengthening collaboration and building practical solutions that protect our people and our communities.”

 

 

The governor said his administration remained committed to improving the state’s resilience to climate change through sustained investments in adaptation measures.

 

 

“As a government, we have continued to take proactive steps to improve our climate resilience and adaptability. We know the impact of tidal activity and rising water levels, which is why we are investing in long-term measures that help us respond better, protect vulnerable areas and secure the future of Lagos,” he said.
