I Paid $40K for a 90-Day ‘World Economy’ Course, but After 80 Days, Africa Hadn’t Been Mentioned—Obi

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, shared an experience from his time at the Kellogg Graduate School, where he said he questioned a professor for not discussing Africa during a course on the world economy despite paying $40,000 for the program.

Speaking in a video posted on Advocacy for Good Governance on Saturday, July 25, 2026, Obi recounted attending a three-month course taught by Professor Donald Jacobs, who, according to him, had served as the dean of the school for many years.

Obi said the course focused on the world economy but that Africa was not mentioned for most of its duration.
