Because technological advancements will make it harder for anyone to manipulate the electoral process or change the will of the people, Sergius Ogun, a former member of the House of Representatives, is optimistic that the 2027 general election will be the most transparent in Nigeria’s history.
During an interview that aired on Symfoni TV on Thursday, July 30, 2026, Ogun stated that the opposition was getting ready to use technologically advanced techniques to independently monitor and validate election results nationwide.
He claims that Nigerians would have more faith in the results of the elections if the country adopted AI and other digital advancements that increase openness and accountability.
