A Kaduna imam died on Sunday night minutes after leading the last prayer of the day as a result of road accident along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, also known as the Western Bypass.
Malam Abdullahi Adam, also known as Abu Rufaidah, was hit by an articulated vehicle and died before he could be rendered medical assistance.
The victim was the imam of the mosque at Shema Filling Station on Abuja Road in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area, was hit by an articulated vehicle.
Eyewitnesses said the imam had just led the Maghrib and Isha prayers and was on his way home when the accident happened at the edge of a water channel along the bypass.
Neither the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) nor the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA) was immediately available for comment.
