The video has gone viral, with many people calling it heartless and unacceptable. “How can an old man do this to his own wife?” one social media user asked. Others are demanding that police arrest the man immediately and provide help for the woman.
Domestic violence like this is too common in Nigeria, and this case has sparked fresh calls for better protection for women. As at press time, Delta State Police have not issued any statement on the matter. Many hope quick action will be taken to bring the man to justice.
