Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke
…We’ll remove Adeleke before 10pm of August 15 – Oke
From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has vowed to defeat Bola Oyebamiji of the Accord Party before 4pm on August 15 governorship election.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, yesterday, Adeleke accused former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and Oyebamiji, of orchestrating desperate moves to disrupt the election out of fear of imminent defeat.
Governor Adeleke alleged that opposition elements within the Osun APC are bent on subverting the will of the people, having realized that they stand no chance at the polls.
“Out of fear of defeat, Mr Oyetola and his imposed candidate are desperate to disrupt the August 15 election. Having seen clearly that Osun people have rejected them, they are now resorting to anti-democratic means in a last-ditch effort to secure power,” the statement read.
The statement further revealed that opinion surveys commissioned by the Osun APC itself from the last quarter of 2025 to March 2026 have consistently placed the APC popularity below 30 percent, while Governor Adeleke’s approval rating has remained between 68 and 72 percent.
Adeleke said “This clearly shows that Governor Adeleke enjoys overwhelming support from the people. The opposition can already see the outcome ahead of August 15.”
The statement also disclosed that the opposition’s desperation worsened following recent revelations by Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi regarding the stance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Osun election, which reportedly dispelled any illusion of federal interference.
“That reality unsettled the Oyetola /Ambo faction of the state APC. Once it became public that there would be no external manipulation of the electoral process, the opposition’s desperation deepened, leaving them with no option but to resort to failed schemes,” the statement added.
But, theThe DG, APC Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, vowed that governor Adeleke would be removed by 10pm of August 15.
He lamented wastage of resources of the state, insisting that the incumbent government is gone.
“Their days are numbered in office. The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun state on all front. In the area of administration, they have displayed incompetence. They have not been fair to Osun people. The resources that have accrued to the state in the last three and half years have been plundered and misused. We don’t have school buildings, we don’t have teachers, our children are no more going to public schools again and these are the schools that we all attended.
“We have no equiped hospital that citizens of Osun state can go to, our agricultural sector has failed. You can’t just say because you’re paying civil servants, you achieve an act of governance. There are laws that when you employ a worker, it is certain, it is obvious that they have to be paid, labourers deserve their wages, it’s not a big deal, it’s not a new thing.
“Our party is coming back to address all these issues, to look to the welfare of the citizens, to banish poverty in the state, that is our key agenda and these are the issues that our committee members, particularly the mobilisation committee will be telling Osun people and with that, I don’t have fear in my mind that we will win this election.
“I have always say this, we are expert in removing a sitting governor, we will remove Adeleke, before 10pm of 15th August, 2026, our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will emerge,” Oke said.
