According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming elections in Lagos State.
The development comes amid reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed support for Obafemi Hamzat as a preferred candidate within the party structure in Lagos.
Despite the political alignment, Adediran maintained that his decision aligns with the APC’s established guidelines on candidate selection through direct primaries.
“In line with the official and current position of the party on direct primaries, I have taken the significant step of formally picking up my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the forthcoming elections,” he stated.
He acknowledged the influence of party leaders but said he remains committed to internal party procedures and democratic processes.
“While I respect the decisions of some of our elders and party leaders endorsing aspirants of their choice, I am guided by the official position of the party on direct primaries as communicated to all members and aspirants alike,” he added.
Adediran also noted that he would comply with any alternative nomination method adopted by the party in line with electoral guidelines.
He stressed that political trust must be earned through consistent engagement and public service rather than rhetoric.
According to him, his ambition is driven by a desire to strengthen democratic governance and promote collective development.
He added that the current phase of political activity requires focused action, stating that it is time for deliberate effort toward achieving shared aspirations for the future.
