Speaking during a candid interview on the One54 Africa Podcast, she opened up about the whirlwind romance that later led to marriage. According to her, she had recently moved to China at the time and was still adjusting to life in a new country.
Korra explained that after spending about a week there, she decided to join a dating platform to meet people and connect with English speakers around her.
She said, “I met my husband on a dating site in China and he told me to move in with him two weeks later.” The singer revealed that after matching online and going on their first date, things moved very quickly.
According to her, he asked why she should continue paying rent when she could simply stay with him instead. Korra admitted that at the time, she found his confidence and directness refreshing.
She said she admired the fact that he seemed certain about what he wanted and was not afraid to express it openly. What started as a chance online connection soon became a serious relationship.
She disclosed that less than a year later, the two had progressed significantly and eventually traveled to Nigeria, where they held a traditional wedding ceremony with family members present.
Although the marriage later became the subject of public controversy and eventually ended in divorce, Korra said the experience remains a major chapter in her life story.
