Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has congratulated indigenes of the state who dominated the 10th BDS and 24th MBBS Joint Induction Ceremony of Newly Qualified Doctors and Dentists held on April 28, 2026, at the Convocation Arena, Bayero University, Kano, describing their performance as a source of pride for the state.
Leading the pack is Dr. Abubakar Ismail Muhammad, an indigene of Zango Local Government Area, who emerged as the Overall Best Graduating MBBS Student, Class of 2023. He also swept three additional honours, claiming Best Graduating Student in Biochemistry, Best Graduating Student in Surgery, and Best Graduating Student in Medicine.
Also celebrated is Dr. Abba Bashir, who excelled in the core medical sciences, emerging as Best in Anatomy, Best in Physiology, and Best in Pharmacology.
Dr. Fatima Sada, an indigene of Katsina Local Government Area, equally made the state proud, receiving the award for Best in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Governor Radda, in his congratulatory message, described the students as shining examples of what dedication, hard work, and focus can produce.
“Katsina is proud of you. You have not only honoured your families but have raised the flag of our state high. We celebrate you and urge you to carry this same spirit of excellence into your service to humanity,” he said.
The Governor further assured that his administration remains committed to investing in education and creating an environment where talented young Katsinawa can thrive and make their mark.
